LCD Soundsystem · 2010
DYC is a song you never forget where you were the first time you heard it - it rewires your brain. I remember hearing it and thinking "wait a song can do this?" and then it becomes a benchmark for everything afterwards (until you find All My Friends). Each song though has it's own personality - I Can Change, Home, You Wanted a Hit, Pow Pow....too good.

Leon Bridges · 2026
Good vibes, forgettable songs, basically brunch music with a passport stamp. Bridges teams up with Jungle's rhythm section and leans all the way into groove, Brazilian guitar, Afrobeat percussion, disco flourishes layered over that smooth voice of his. Light the Way opens things with real energy, horns and rumba drums doing a lot of work. Illusion is the one moment the lyrics actually have some tension underneath the breeze. Problem is most of this washes past you, pleasant in the moment but nothing really sticks once it's over, form chosen over feeling almost every time. Easy on the ears, light on the memory.

walt disco · 2026
Theatrical chaos that actually means something underneath the glitter. Walt Disco throw everything at this one, Smashing Pumpkins fuzz crashing into Cocteau Twins shimmer, Jocelyn's voice swinging from defiant to shattered within the same verse. Coup de Foudre is the clear high point, turns dysphoria and heartbreak into something that still sounds like a dance floor anthem. Lies brings the bite, brash and a little unhinged in the best way. Doesn't always resolve its own excess cleanly, but the rawness underneath keeps it from ever feeling like posturing. Messy, glamorous, and genuinely lived in.

Blossoms · 2026
Love songs for people who've already won. Blossoms go full disco-wedding-band here, every track dressed up in confetti and good intentions, and most of the time it works because nobody writes a hook quite like Ogden does. The problem is how safe it all feels, nothing here risks a single awkward moment, it's romance with the edges sanded completely off. Fall Into You is the one moment that actually earns the sentimentality instead of just performing it, Guts and Additional Driver bring some actual texture with that Declan McKenna detour giving the record its only real swerve. Pleasant, polished, and a little too comfortable with itself.

Keo · 2026
Grungy and loud, a debut that sounds like it's already been battle tested on stage before it ever hit tape. Finn Keogh wears every insecurity right on the surface, the band layering thick 90s inspired feedback and riffs around him without burying the vulnerability underneath. Thorn and That's Me carry the biggest highs, anthemic in a way that still feels personal rather than manufactured. Blue Song slows things down and gives the record some real breathing room. Doesn't always avoid repeating its own tricks across eleven tracks, but the rawness carries it through. A confident, unpolished debut that earns its name the hard way.

Lewis Capaldi · 2019
Lewis Capaldi's voice has this incredible ability to resonate with your emotions so deeply. The album is full of absolute soul-wrenching songs with amazing writing and beautiful musical composition. I come back to this album on hard days every now and then.

Miles Davis Quintet · 1956
"It never entered my mind" was the song that turned me on jazz. I remember I listened to it as part of a soundtrack in a 90´s movie. The mellow and velvety sound of Miles trumpet matched perfectly with New York city landscapes. His soulful and airy tone has the delightful balance between brightness and emotional deepness through the whole album. The cherry on top is the swirling piano of Red Garland, that gives to the music an immersive atmosphere. Each song is a masterpiece. And for me, "it never entered my mind" is my favourite, it made me fall in love with jazz and hopefully make you fall in love too.
