Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Track Star (the “Service”), including the iOS app, the trackstar.net website, and any related surfaces. By using the Service you agree to these Terms.

Who can use Track Star

You must be at least 13 years old to use Track Star. If you are between 13 and 18, you represent that a parent or guardian has reviewed these Terms and agreed to them on your behalf. By signing in you affirm you meet these requirements.

Accounts

You sign in using Sign in with Apple. You are responsible for any activity that happens under your account. Do not share your Apple ID. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at support@trackstar.net.

What Track Star is

Track Star is a music-guessing game. Each daily drop presents ten short music preview clips; you guess the artist as quickly as you can. Preview clips are supplied by Apple Music via the standard MusicKit APIs. Track Star does not stream full songs.

Music service integrations

You may optionally connect a Spotify or Apple Music account to add songs you heard in-game to your library. When you do:

• You authorize Track Star to perform the specific actions you initiate (list your playlists, create the “My Track Star songs” playlist if you choose, add the songs from your just-completed round to a playlist you select).
• Your continued use of Spotify or Apple Music is governed by their respective terms and privacy policies. Track Star has no control over the music services or their content.
• You can disconnect a music service at any time from the app. Disconnecting removes the associated authorization; it does not delete playlists or tracks already added to your library.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or circumvent the Service's anti-cheat protections.
• Automate gameplay, use bots, or otherwise submit guesses without a human playing honestly.
• Interfere with, overload, or otherwise misuse our APIs, servers, or infrastructure.
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.
• Use the Service to violate any applicable law or the rights of others.

Content and intellectual property

Track Star's software, brand, wordmark, and original curated content (song lists, hints, trivia, artist overviews) are owned by us or our licensors and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, redistribute, or create derivative works from the Service except as permitted by law.

Music, cover art, and preview clips are the property of their respective rights holders and are delivered via Apple Music's MusicKit. Your rights to those materials are governed by your agreement with Apple and the rights holders.

AI-generated content

Some in-app content (song trivia, artist overviews, gameplay hints) is generated using large language models. We take reasonable care to review and curate this content, and clearly label AI-generated overviews in the app. However, AI-generated content may contain inaccuracies. If you spot something incorrect, please contact us so we can correct it.

Termination

You may stop using Track Star at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, abuse the Service, or if we discontinue the Service.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Track Star and its affiliates will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenues, or data, arising from or related to your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of USD $50 or the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim (which, if you use the free tier, is zero).

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any dispute arising from or related to these Terms or the Service will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York, and you consent to their jurisdiction.

Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes we will surface them in-app or at this URL and update the effective date at the top. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
