10.0You’ve heard Hoppípolla, and it’s great, but look deeper, play it on your best headphones or speakers, and just let it in.

My favorites are usually great instrumentation with a twist of weird. Could be punk, hip hop, indie alternative, jazz, electronic, blues, but it’s gotta have a splash of something that makes me think.

8.0A few gems on this one, as we would hope for from Alt-J’s frontman.

10.0There’s a deep well of sonic discovery to be had here. It’s also out there on 5.1, and that is quite the experience!

10.0There was before Kid A, and then there was after Kid A, but the best is still during Kid A.

10.0Mouse On Mars has delivered a masterpiece with this one. It is a sonic delight on the headphones, made for Spatial Audio but even on 2-channel stereo it is stunning, I’ve got it on vinyl. It has all kinds of hilarious lyrics from Lee “Scratch” Perry, as well as some nods and samples from his deep catalogue. For me, it gets better with every listen and it’s the album of the year for 2026.
