I love everything- fron Coltrane to Slayer. Metal, Drum & Bass, Jazz, Pop Music, House Music and anything else you can think of, I might not like it all, but there is a chance I will like some of it.
The Beatles influence is all over (What’s the Story) Morning Glory? and Oasis really never tried to hide it. She’s Electric has that old-school British pop sound, and the beginning of Don’t Look Back in Anger sounds a lot like John Lennon’s Imagine. But Oasis didn’t just copy The Beatles. They took that sound, added louder guitars, a lot more attitude, and Liam Gallagher’s voice and made it their own.
A white kid from surburban Wisconsin had no idea what he was getting himself into. Talk about an album the opened your eyes and made take a serious look at the things happening around in the world, while blowing your mind with the raw, uncencored realness of the streets of Compton. I had just discovered Ice T, LL Cool J and RUN DMC right before this. All GOATS imo, but this album is the one that hooked me into late 80's and 90's hip-hop.
It's just such a complete record. start to stop, not a single bad track. It brings me back to the days when I was just starting my journey into metal. Metallica, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Slayer and Anthrax always take me to a simpler and fantastic time in my life.
The name of the record says it all "The Very Best of John Coltrane" Is on the record player right now. It's what I listen to when I need to cleanse my musical palate.
This album changed my life and opened up a whole new world musically for me. Her voice and those instruments could not create a better sound to my ears. This is the album if I were stranded on a desert island and only had one thing to listen to type of album. Please if you have not listened to this, treat yourself.
I have known Will for a bunch of years and remember going to his shows in Nashville and Bowling Green. If you ever want to listen to a real talent, you should give his entire catalog a listen. If you start with the first album and listen all the way through, you will not only hear the growth of a talented singer/songwriter, but also the growth of a man coming to terms with the world he lives in and figuring out how he can help make it a better place.
His songs are packed with depth, wisdom, and sometimes a longing for things that are just not meant to be.
He has also had success as a songwriter. The Eli Young Band covered his song **“Even If It Breaks Your Heart”** to massive success, and a few other artists have picked up his songs along the way. Nothing, in my opinion, will ever beat the original songs done by the man himself.
