My least favorite album by Springsteen even though there are a few songs that I consider gems.

hard to describe the genre -- an original, eclectic blend of rock, funk, soul, world influenced. groovy but refined music. give it a little time and it's addicting. great music for vinyl. i have all their albums but this is the one that i started on so gotta give it the edge.

very cool blend of hip hop, jazz, trip hop, lo-fi, some instrumental. i stumbled onto it, read about Nujabes and was suprised to learn about how respected he is.

Really good record, has some punchy, fast, dark tracks with some occasional QOTSA sprinkles. Some tracks can take you to a very dark places in the corners of your mind, while others can feel like a breath of fresh air in an open light space. Highly recommend.

Much lighter in tone progression from previous dark-mooded the colour and the shape record, at the same time packs a punch and will make you stomp your feet and shake a head, but probably with the smile on your face.

Ben Kweller · 2025
Ben Kweller absolutely blows out his emotions into this brilliant celebration and sorrowful mourning for his son Dorian (performed under the name Zev). I’ve had the distinct pleasure of witnessing BK Live well over 20 times since seeing him the first time over 20 years ago in Denver. No show more raw than his benefit show the year prior to this release where he fought through every lyric. Sharing his loss, his anger, his sadness, his joy and his love for his family and his music. This album blends all that beauty and emotion with his masterful pop lyricism and his trademark Rawk style. With bonus contributions and collaborations with Coconut Records, MJ Lenderman, Waxahatchee and The Flaming Lips. Give this album and his entire catalog a listen and go see his show every chance you get.

instrumental, guitar-playing brothers, with latin rhythms and style. this album is the type that you just put on and let it run to set a mood. some songs make you feel like you're in an old western. this band is always in my rotation.

Helado Negro · 2019
oh man gotta love helado negro. mostly chill electronic/pop, latin flavor. watch his tiny desk to get hooked. he's a vibe. good songs on other albums too, but this one's the best IMO.

whaa?! these guys are mind-blowing. experimental chaotic rock ... some describe it as math rock, but that feels too limiting. long songs that build until you're laughing how crazy and pretty awesome it is.

Never get tired of this debut album. This reggae 3 piece should be known outside Canada and this album is the best place to start
