A perfect pop album. The story arc, the 80s refs, the big swells. Just love it so much.

(First Nations people are advised this review mentions the name of people who have died) I first listened to this album deeply in 2018 when I was a sleep-deprived new mum. I could never remember nursery rhymes properly, but I could play this from my phone. I can’t tell you how often I played it. We live in Australia I thought introducing my baby to music sung in language, in this case Yolŋu language, would help my child realise he was a child of Australia through the music of our First Nations folks. We don’t live on Yolŋu country and I am not Indigenous. But this album sounds like nothing I had ever heard, yet it also sounds like Australia to me. I was so delighted the ARIA hall of fame inducted the late Gurrumul into their hall of fame this year. He was such an important Indigenous artist. My kids and I have since started listening to Mitch Tambo sing pop songs in Gamilaraay language.

A no skip album. Dare I say BBC's best work, and Rae Morris and Lucy Rose are such a key part of it. Luna is still one of my favourite songs of all time ✨️

This album instantly hits so hard. It feels like summer but also crying at 12 am over the girl you know is long gone. One of my favorite debuts ever

Cousin Tony's is a criminally under-recognized band! This album is so creative and warm and gorgeous. Songwriting? Impeccable. The brass? The sax? Are you kidding me.

Canadian icons who have embedded themselves in our lives with songs that were woven into our lives. Beautiful harmonies and just an overall easy album to listen to.

Korean reggae band + Korean traditional singer + French DJ = a great dub reggae band. They weren't together long, but the music they produced and the shows they played in Seoul & throughout Korea were always a highlight. I never thought that I'd find reggae/jam bands when I moved to Seoul in 2002, but I'm glad that I found and met this group of musicians who loved to jam and bridge cultures with their infectious sound.
