A great, raw live album.

There's so much depth, texture and meaning in this record—and yet, it's also deeply mysterious. Tweedy produced some incredible songwriting—"All my lies are always wishes," is maybe my favorite lyrics of all time. It embodies this sense of yearning, failure and hope that carry through the entire album. I am an American aquarium drinker I assassin down the avenue I'm hiding out in the big city blinking What was I thinking when I let go of you? Huh? Not sure I totally follow but I'm digging the vibe. It's hard for to separate this album from Sam Jones' incredible "making of" documentary. The scene of Tweedy and his little boy Spencer playing Heavy Metal drumming is impossibly moving when you know that Spencer eventually becomes his touring drummer. Great stuff. That film—and the odd 9/11 connection—turned this album into myth. But whatever. It feels. It stirs. It's always a solid listen. Play it at my funeral.

An amazing album with an Allstar band.

I could drive to the Darien Gap with Band of Horses onboard. Been crushing this album for 20 years.

Still, silent poetry … a true fireside album. Try not to sing along to each track. Mountaintop disc for me 🇨🇦

I’d willingly be trapped in a smoky hotel bar with this album as the live soundtrack.

I’m staying if this is on at a party.

This album felt like a discovery, still does … so effortlessly earnest and unforgettable.

Road trip heat, gas station beers

I appreciate this album more with each passing year - an album for the porch at twilight, a walk on a crisp Autumn day - somewhere you can attend to Kurt’s lyrics, and float along with the pitch perfect and spare orchestration.

I remember reading a lackluster review of this album when it was released, and I decided to give it a listen anyway. It’s been one of my favorite albums ever since.

I don’t what it is about this album. It’s not a band I knew about. They don’t seem to fit a particular style of music. But - this album is one of my favorites. It has a groove that just takes me somewhere.

They’re a great blues rock band, and then they kill it with this album. A whole new side to them.

My Cat’s Name is Maceo… the album is great. This song is incredible.,

Pure magic

First Elvis cd I bought. Frank duets then Elvis number ones but then the Beatles 1 On cds. Not cassettes no more. Yas.

Amazing voice. Every track on this album is so good. And saw lots of them performed live recently - just as good live. Highly recommend.

This band deserves so much more love. Every track on this album is great. If you love the pop punk sound/style this band is for you.
