As music, the show happened about them — their songs, played to other people’s guests. These are the records above it played from, with each song and the episodes it went to.
This album is not very good (sorry) but stop crying your heart out is one of my favourite songs ever and the other day (after doc) i listened to it like 9 times in a row and it felt like an exorcism
I remember the mania this band caused. My first real understanding of what Beatle mania must have been like. I don’t think I liked it as much at the time as I do now.
One of the best songs by one of the best bands played and recorded in the best country. And we live in a time the Gallagher bros could reconnect and do this. Amazing. Erin go bragh 💚☘️🤘🎸💚
9.5/10 — A phenomenal debut and one of the great rock albums of the ’90s.
Definitely Maybe is Oasis arriving fully formed—loud, confident, swaggering, and packed with the kind of anthemic rock songs that would soon make them one of the biggest bands in the world. It has some of my absolute favorite Oasis songs, particularly “Live Forever” and “Rock ’n’ Roll Star,” both of which perfectly capture the attitude and ambition that defined the band.
What makes the album so impressive is how consistently good it is from beginning to end. There’s a rawness and energy here that feels unmistakably Oasis, with huge guitars, memorable melodies, and Liam Gallagher’s unmistakable voice tying it all together.
For me, though, it falls just a little short of What’s the Story) Morning Glory? IMHO. Morning Glory feels like the more complete and polished album, with an almost impossible run of iconic songs. But that’s a very high bar.
9.5/10 — an outstanding debut, loaded with some of my favorite Oasis songs and one of the essential albums of the Britpop era. Just a half-step behind Morning Glory, but still absolutely brilliant.
