DOMi & JD BECK

This is not 100% for me but I think they know that and lean into it. I call it Frantic jazz. I do not know and would be shocked if anyone was anything LIKE THEM. That alone makes them special. I can appreciate what they are doing and I enjoy them. I have a hard time finding the right time to sit and live with this though. Hard to find the right mood / timing to lounge with this. I will someday and really appreciate what these two geniuses are doing. I cannot wait to explore the first album, I think it is a bit less frantic paced.

DOMi & JD BECK speak a musical language so complex that it feels like their mother tongue rather than a display of virtuosity. On WHO ASKED?, they bring that language closer to actual songs, leaning into R&B, vocals and more accessible structures without losing their identity. Their harmonies rarely settle, constantly jumping between unresolved chords and unexpected directions. Yet somehow, the music remains comfortable, playful and surprisingly easy to live inside. A wonderfully strange world built by two musicians who genuinely sound like nobody else.
