The Strokes · 2001
a must listen and no skip album all the band members have so much chemistry with each other - fab's simple but energetic drums clashing (in a good way) with nikolai's bass, then albert and nick just ripping away on the guitars, with julian demonstrating how a voice can be an instrument too. catchy is the word i have for this album. i'm very sure there'll be certain lyrics that'll be stuck in your head

Gillian Welch · 2001
Gillian Welch is one of the greatest songwriters of our time, much like how David Rawlings is one of the greatest guitar players. This album is an American tapestry, and it deeply reminds me of Appalachia and the mountains in which I was born. One day, we will all stand at those pearly gates with red clay halos for our heads.

Simpler than Morning Glory but super tight, every song is a banger. Will make you jump, punch air, headbang and sob with tears.

Maybe the most haunting outro of all time, Angels and Fuselage ends the bands homage to Lynyrd Skynyrd in a devastating 8 mins. Patterson Hood and Mike Cooley, these 2 will gut punch you with their lyrics.

SZA · 2017
SZA is always great but never more relatable than right here. Sonically it’s my comfort and then lyrically it’s hit the spot since I was 14 (all roads lead back to ctrl)
