Hugh Laurie · 2011
With producer Joe Henry and arranger Allen Toussaint, yes that Hugh Laurie makes a real New Orleans Blues record. It feels ancient in the best way. The roster of musicians working on this is insane. It’s a rewarding joy.

Tom Jones · 2013
A surprise around every corner. Producer Ethan Johns pushes Tom Jones artistically with roomy atmospheres. The song choices are fascinating; Jones covering his contemporaries - but more recent songs. There are truly stunning moments, perhaps the most striking being the Gregorian choir-backed “Charlie Darwin.”

The Stone Roses · 1989
Probably the greatest debut album of all time. Also, best band from Manchester 😏

This album is such a testament to minimalism, timelessness, working under constraints and letting your freak flag fly. Red swirl forever.

The Beatles · 1969
When I was a kid it was The Beatles versus The Beach Boys for some reason. And I preferred the cool kids from overseas. Abbey Road is an excellent record with songs that we all know by heart at this point. Not their best record, but a very good one.

SIENNA SPIRO · 2026
INSANE debut album. Her raw, raspy yet powerful vocals create this beautiful vintage jazz soul style sound.

With a nod to 80's musicianship and lyrics. Every single song is original and just solid.

There’s nothing like Sheryl Crow‘s debut album. All of her other albums after that are subpar.

Kanye West · 2010
It's the height of separating the art from the artist. The work by itself is great and set the 'sound' of modern hip hop for at least a decade following. There are parts it that are beutiful like runaway and parts that feel post-apocalyptic. A decade plus later and I can love the album and also feel the internal pain of the artist.

The foundational rock record that is a total homage to american music via British rock gods!
