Sufjan Stevens

🤝🏼

A total punch to the gut, Javelin brings Sufjan back to his acoustic folk roots in the most devastating way. He layers big, swelling choral vocals over quiet guitar picking, making the whole thing feel massive yet painfully personal. It’s a deeply fragile masterpiece dedicated to his late partner. The way he mixes heavy grief with sudden sparks of hope leaves you completely wrecked but somehow comforted by the end.

I can't stand the idea that I didn't make into that tour. A beautiful journey into grieving, forgiving and understanding each other.
