The Montreal band's debut starts like you've walked into someone's half-finished thought. Recorded at Studio Saint Zo with Scott Munro and Marlaena Moore producing, tactile but never slick. Buswa doesn't explain her Anishinaabe identity, she inhabits it, and the cultural references are embedded rather than footnoted. Its most affecting moments arrive casually.
