8.08/10 — Creative, bold, raw, and wildly entertaining. One of the more unexpected and exciting albums I’ve come across this year. Angine de Poitrine, Vol. 1 is one of those albums that caught me completely off guard. I wasn’t really sure what to expect going in, but it didn’t take long for me to realize that this was something different. It’s weird, creative, raw, and completely unapologetic — and that’s exactly what makes it so much fun. What I really like about this album is that it feels genuinely new. There’s an energy and unpredictability to it that kept me interested from beginning to end. It doesn’t feel overly polished or like it was designed to fit neatly into a particular genre. Instead, it feels like an artist taking chances and seeing how far they can push an idea. And honestly, sometimes that’s exactly what I want from music. Not every album needs to be perfect or immediately accessible. Sometimes I want something that surprises me, makes me laugh, makes me scratch my head, and ultimately makes me want to hear it again. That’s what Angine de Poitrine, Vol. 1 has done for me. The more I listen, the more I appreciate how bold and creative it is. There are definitely moments that work better for me than others, but the overall experience is so entertaining that I keep coming back to it. 8.5/10 — a wildly entertaining, creative, and genuinely original album. It’s raw, it takes chances, and most importantly, it feels like someone actually had fun making it. That makes it pretty damn easy for me to enjoy. Looking forward to seeing them in Philly in November.
